Today, i’m going to tell you about indian cuisine or food dishes, which regularly cook by indian housewives. Indian cuisine is very popular across the world. Every region has its own special food dishes. Indian cuisine is vegetarian & non-vegetarian. This amazing food consists sweets, starters, beverages, vegetables sabji, chapati roti, salad and so on. So let’s start the journey of indian cuisine.

Indian Cuisine │Indian Food

Indian food is different from rest of the world not only in taste but also in cooking methods. Food in India has also been influenced by various civilizations which have contributed their share in its overall development and the present form. Food of India are better known for its spiciness. throughout the India, be in north India or south india , spices are used generously in food.

1. North Indian food:-

Food in north india to begin with Kashmiri cuisines reflect strong central asian influences. In Kashmir, mostly all the dishes are prepared around the main course of rice found abundantly in the beautiful valley. Another delicious item cooked here is the ‘saag’ that is prepared  with a green leafy vegetables  known as the ‘Hak’. But on the otherhand states like- Punjab, Haryana and uttar Pradesh shows high consumption of chapattis (roti) other closely related breads baked in these regions include tandoori, naan and rumali etc..

2. West Indian Food :-

In western india, the desert cuisine is famous for its unique taste and varieties of food. Rajasthan and Gujarat are state that represent the dessert flavor of Indian food. Here, an immense variety of dals and achars is used that simply substitutes the relative lack of fresh vegetables in these areas. In the state like Maharashtra, the food is usually a mix of both north as well as south cooking styles. Here people use both the rice and the wheat with same interest. Here, gujarati cuisine comprises – rotli-sabji-daal-rice – as a routine meal,  kahman-dhokla- kahndvi as a starter, buttermilk as a soup, sreekhand, lapsi as a sweet. On otherhand mumbaikar prefers puran poli as sweet, vada pau – missal pav as a snakes etc.

3. East Indian Food :-

In the eastern india, the Bengali and assamese styles of cooking are noticeable. The staple food Of the Bengalis is the yummy combination of rice & fish. They prefers varieties of fish for dinner and lunch as well. Various sweets prepared in this region by using milk include the “roshogollas’, ‘chamcham’ and many more.


4. South Indian Food :-

In the southern region, the states make great use of spices, fishes and coconuts as most of them have coastal kitchens. In the food of tamilnadu, use of tamarind (amli) is frequently made in order to impart sourness to the dishes. The cooking style of Andhra Pradesh is supposed  to make excessive use of chilies, which is obviously to improve the taste of the dishes. In kerala, some of the delicious dishes are the lambstew and appams, idlis-dhosa with yummy sambhar, fish molai and rice puttu.

South Indian Food
